Anthropic is seeking a Workplace Coordinator to serve as the sole workplace team member in its Zurich office. This is a comprehensive operations and hospitality role where you will own everything that makes the office run and a place where employees want to be. Key Responsibilities: Office Operations & Building Management: You will coordinate with and manage vendors handling day-to-day operations, maintenance, janitorial services, deliveries, office supplies, and building repairs. You'll address workplace issues promptly (HVAC failures, elevator problems, plumbing issues, etc.), engage the right vendors, and keep colleagues informed until resolution. You'll conduct minor repairs and hands-on maintenance tasks, coordinate vendors for complex work, support HVAC and preventive maintenance schedules, manage workstation setups for new hires and team changes (monitors, monitor arms, ergonomic equipment), support office moves and furniture reconfigurations as the team grows, and partner with Security on emergency response and compliance with local safety codes, permits, and inspections. Employee Experience & Hospitality: You are the face of the office and first point of contact for how things work. You'll ensure new hires have a seamless first-day experience with desk setup, equipment configuration, office tour, and warm welcome. You'll manage food and beverage programming including snacks, coffee, catering for meetings, and team meals, keeping offerings responsive to employee preferences. You'll monitor and proactively improve the in-office experience through walkthroughs, employee feedback, and observation. You'll respond to requests in the internal ticketing system within SLAs with clear, timely, empathetic communication, and develop office culture and hospitality standards that make Zurich feel like an Anthropic office. Events & Programming: You'll plan and execute local office events including team gatherings, holiday celebrations, milestone moments, happy hours, and visiting-executive hospitality. You'll coordinate with broader Workplace, People, and Experience teams on company-wide events with a Zurich component. You'll own event logistics end-to-end: space setup, catering, A/V, vendor coordination, budget tracking, and teardown. You'll support visiting teams and executives with workspace setup and local logistics, and bring a hospitality mindset to every event and meeting setup. Cross-Functional Coordination: You'll partner closely with People Operations, Security, the global Workplace team, IT/AV, and local vendors. You'll help maintain and improve Standard Operating Procedures as the office and team grow, manage multiple competing priorities with clear judgment, and surface issues, risks, and facility needs to the global Workplace team early and clearly. Requirements: - 5+ years of experience in workplace coordination, office management, hospitality, or building operations - Working knowledge of building systems like HVAC, elevators, plumbing, and lighting; ability to supervise maintenance, repairs, and services - Service-minded, solutions-oriented approach; genuine enjoyment of being the person who makes things work - Experience managing food and beverage service, catering, or hospitality programming in an office setting - Comfortable independently managing an office; prior experience as sole workplace person at a site or readiness to be - Willingness to roll up your sleeves with no task too big or too small - Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to manage many competing priorities - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Preferred Qualifications: - Experience managing workplace projects or programs (HVAC, preventive maintenance, office moves, events) in multi-building or high-growth environments - Experience planning and executing office events from small team gatherings to larger company celebrations - Experience at a high-growth technology company where processes are being built in real time - Interest in artificial intelligence and care that it is developed safely and beneficially - Experience managing permit, license, and inspection requirements
