WEBTOON Entertainment is seeking a Senior Content Programming Manager to own how series are discovered, pitched, and sustained within the platform. This role sits at the intersection of editorial taste, readership data, and product strategy.
You will drive cumulative growth through title lifecycle management, mapping and managing series trajectories from launch to completion. You'll identify high-potential stories and strategically scale them to broader audiences, while mastering narrative timing and pacing to recognize when series hook readers and when to push them for maximum impact.
You'll read stories like an editor and pitch them like a marketer—analyzing series across genres and tropes to identify core hooks and emotional payoffs, then matching each title to specific reader segments and goals. You'll develop creative pitches by selecting key panels, writing in-app copy (titles, taglines, banners, push notifications), and defining how stories should be presented to different audiences.
Turning readership data into programming opportunities is central to the role. You'll build and maintain readership segments based on reading behavior, identify which titles drive sustained engagement for each segment, and design and run A/B tests on placements, creatives, and copy to develop repeatable playbooks.
You'll orchestrate the balance between human curation and algorithmic recommendation. You'll map the platform's native discovery surfaces, decide where human curation adds the most value (editorial collections, launch support, seasonal moments, tailored pitches), and design a holistic reader journey where algorithms and human curation work seamlessly together. You'll partner with product, data science, and engineering to improve recommendation inputs and shape new curation features.
You'll also lead across teams, working closely with content/editorial, localization, CRM, product, data, and creative teams in both the U.S. and Korea.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of experience in content programming, editorial curation, merchandising, or content marketing for a digital content platform (webcomics, streaming video, music, publishing, games, or similar)
- Strong story analysis skills; ability to break down narrative structure, character appeal, tropes, and tone
- Exceptional writing and editorial judgment with deep literary and cultural understanding
- Hands-on data skills: comfortable defining segments, building cohort and retention analyses, working with dashboards, and proficient in SQL or able to work independently with analysts
- Experience running in-app or on-platform experiments and translating results into programming decisions
- Working understanding of how recommendation systems and personalization work
- Deep familiarity with U.S. readers and pop culture, including genre fandoms, romance and fantasy communities, and social media reading trends
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with webcomics, manga, comics, web novels, or serialized content
- Hands-on experience with CRM platforms such as Braze
- Strong AI literacy and practical experience using AI tools for content analysis and data work
- Familiarity with monetization models for serialized content
- Experience shaping product requirements for curation or discovery features
- Korean language ability or experience working with Korean teams
