Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead product strategy and vision for Maritime Digital Production (MDP), the software and digital systems function within Anduril's Heavy Metal division. MDP builds the software-defined shipyard—the complete technology stack powering Anduril's shipbuilding factories, including data infrastructure, ArsenalOS (manufacturing execution system), scheduling engines, and AI systems that eliminate manual work from the shop floor and business operations.
This role is anchored by Arsenal-2, a software-defined shipyard being built in Baltimore County, Maryland as part of a $6.6 billion investment in America's submarine industrial base. Development is underway in Orange County, California, proving out manufacturing methods and digital workflows that will scale across the shipyard network. MDP operates at the boundary between Operational Technology and Information Technology, where factory-floor machines, edge compute, and OT networks meet enterprise platforms and cloud infrastructure. The team is scaling from a founding team to 70+ engineers across multiple U.S. sites.
As Staff Product Manager, you will set product vision and strategy across all MDP domains: the factory data platform, manufacturing execution applications, scheduling and optimization engine, and AI systems. You will be the senior product voice for the function, balancing investment across domains, raising the product bar, and guiding other product managers on the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting product vision and multi-year strategy across Maritime Digital Production and making portfolio-level tradeoffs on investment allocation
- Owning the cross-domain roadmap and prioritization, resolving competing demands between factory data, manufacturing execution, scheduling/optimization, and AI initiatives
- Gathering and refining functional and non-functional requirements (capacity, performance, reliability) and establishing standards for how requirements are captured and prioritized
- Communicating across stakeholders and senior leadership, exercising judgment to distinguish between stated needs and underlying problems
- Walking the factory floor, talking directly with technicians and operators, and translating observations into product improvements
- Navigating organizational dynamics between Maritime Digital Production and partner platform teams, advocating from the customer point of view
- Aligning with Corporate Technology product organization to keep Maritime's roadmap in sync with broader CorpTech roadmap on shared platforms and dependencies
- Mentoring and guiding other product managers, establishing product practices and standards, and creating clarity across domains
You will lead through influence rather than authority, earning trust with engineering, operations, and leadership. You will "see around the corner" for the function, crafting vision and roadmap well beyond the current cycle, and constantly engaging stakeholders to solicit input and manage expectations. You will work backward from strategy to set clear outcomes in partnership with engineering, design, and operations leaders, building structures that enable multiple teams to prioritize competing work within rapid development cycles.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 12+ years in software product management or similar leading role in product development, including experience owning a portfolio or leading product across multiple teams/domains
- Demonstrated ability to set product vision and strategy at functional or organizational level and drive it through multiple teams
- Experience mentoring or guiding other product managers and establishing product practices and standards
- Domain expertise within hardware-related industries such as manufacturing, supply chain, warehousing, or logistics
- Demonstrated ability to gather and refine both functional and non-functional requirements and turn them into a prioritized backlog
- Strong understanding of interplay between enterprise systems (ERP, WMS, MES, PLM, supplier portals)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence engineers, operations stakeholders, and senior leadership
- Demonstrated success working directly with end users in operational environments, including time on production or factory floor observing workflows firsthand
- Ability to navigate cross-team and cross-department dynamics, representing customer point of view and building alignment when priorities differ
- Experience aligning product roadmap with partner or platform organization, keeping priorities in sync across groups sharing technology and dependencies
- Demonstrated success decomposing complex problems into addressable component parts and arranging correct sequencing across teams
- Proven ability to "see around corners" by crafting product strategy well beyond current development cycle
- Comfort maturing products from MVP to enterprise-grade production at scale
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
- U.S. Person status required (position needs access to export controlled data)
- Eligible to obtain and maintain active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience building or owning manufacturing execution systems (MES), shop floor control systems, or operational software for factory, warehouse, or field environments
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing industries with time on assembly lines or in production facilities working directly with operators and technicians
- Experience with UI/UX web design tools (e.g., Figma)
- Familiarity with frontier AI tooling and AI-assisted software development workflows
- Experience in hyper-growth startup-like environments balancing speed, ambiguity, and long-term platform health
- Background in operations research, industrial engineering, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience leading product across multiple domains or lines of effort within single function or organization
- Experience supporting multi-site product rollouts, change management, and user training programs
