ServiceNow is seeking a VP of Product Strategy for Technology Workflows, the company's largest business unit and core platform. Technology Workflows encompasses Service Management (Incident/Problem/Change), Operations Management (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Asset Management, and Portfolio Management—products that give customers visibility into their technology estate, help them understand system connections and performance, and enable action.
This is a senior individual contributor role serving as strategic partner to the SVP of Technology Workflows and the General Managers and Product Leaders of each business unit. You will not manage a direct team or run a product line directly; instead, your impact comes through partnership and influence across the organization.
Key responsibilities include: owning and defending the multi-year strategic position for Technology Workflows as the AI landscape evolves; setting market sizing and category definitions; shaping pricing and packaging strategy across the portfolio, including shifts toward outcome-based models; sourcing and evaluating acquisition, acquihire, and partnership candidates; building and maintaining partner and ecosystem frameworks across observability, endpoint, operational technology, and systems integrator relationships; representing the business in executive and customer forums (CIO Product Advisory Council, strategy cycles, roadmap reviews); maintaining the competitive picture for AI-native technology operations; and partnering across product, platform, AI, pricing, marketing, and analyst relations through influence rather than authority.
You will produce written arguments and pre-reads that leadership uses to make decisions, form technical points of view on acquisition targets, coordinate product and engineering diligence, and present strategy to large enterprise CIOs and startup founders.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 15+ years in enterprise software with focus on technical IT or production operations, or direct experience running technical estates with significant time at or alongside the executive table
- Strong analytical and presentation skills in deeply technical fields; engineering degree with 10+ years of large-scale product leadership/development and MBA with 10+ years of business leadership are assets
- Deep domain knowledge in how hardware and software is built, deployed, and run; ability to hold technical conversations with startup CTOs and assess architecture claims; ability to converse with customers and practitioners in their vernacular
- Experience developing and owning strategic positions that changed what a business did (decisions that moved, not just decks that circulated)
- Experience evaluating companies for acquisition, acquihire, or deep partnership, including forming independent technical views and coordinating diligence
- Strong commercial instincts across pricing, packaging, and market sizing
- Strong analytical skills and willingness to challenge analyses
- Exceptional written communication; ability to persuade senior leaders through prose and pre-reads
- Executive presence with external audiences; will be the most senior product voice in the room frequently
- Comfort operating without a direct team; ability to build coalitions and get outcomes through people who do not report to you
- Experience integrating AI into work processes, strategic direction, or problem-solving
- Strong full-stack understanding of on-premise infrastructure, public cloud, DevOps practices, software creation/deployment/run, and associated tooling and engineering practices
Nice to have: background spanning both IT estate and production/DevOps estate; prior experience with observability, DevOps/CI/CD pipelines, Agentic platforms, and public cloud; venture, corporate development, or investment banking exposure alongside product career.
