Sitemate builds AI-powered software and agents for construction, infrastructure, and industrial companies. The company's core products include Storm (a data capture agent for frontline workers), Dashpivot (safety and field reporting), Gearbelt (fleet management), and Flowsite (no-code integrations). With 200 people across 18+ countries and backing from Blackbird, Sitemate has strong product-market fit and generates thousands of leads monthly through organic channels. This VP of Marketing role reports directly to the CEO and leads a 7-person marketing team organized across five functional areas: Performance Marketing, Content Engineering, Marketing Design, Marketing Operations, and Product Marketing. You manage through function leads in each area, with specialists rolling up through those leads. You own the global demand generation engine, including content production, performance marketing across paid channels (Google Ads, Meta retargeting), and marketing operations infrastructure. You are responsible for the marketing organization—hiring standards, org design, headcount planning, budgets, and performance decisions for your function leads and their teams. You establish the marketing operating cadence through quarterly initiative planning and scoreboarding (e.g., MQL-to-pipeline conversion, channel performance), with discipline to cut initiatives that don't earn their place. You define the boundary with the VP of Growth: you own everything that brings a prospect to activation (demand creation, content, brand, paid acquisition); Growth owns activation, retention, referral, and expansion revenue inside the product. You also own the marketing department's AI adoption strategy, deciding what gets automated first (lead scoring, campaign optimization) and reporting measured gains to the executive team. Key priorities in rough order: build reliable turnaround infrastructure between Product Marketing and Design for predictable request cycles; continue the content roadmap with new content clusters; improve search engine and answer engine brand visibility; keep performance marketing compounding through retargeting iteration and lead-value analysis by channel; build marketing operations as real infrastructure with clean ownership of outbound systems, data infrastructure, and reporting. Success at 90 days means you're making campaign, content, and channel decisions personally with measurable impact; the ownership split with Growth is written and agreed; every marketing initiative has a named owner and clear success measure; and you've identified the three biggest concerns about the growth engine with proposed plans. At 6 months, marketing-qualified leads converting to sales pipeline are measurably up without quality slipping; AI-driven search is built into content production; content lands on a predictable schedule; and you've reshaped priorities based on your judgment. At 12 months, the engine pulls in measurably more ways without losing what worked; quarterly planning runs without you holding every piece; and someone is ready to step into a key leadership role. Day-to-day work includes personally making and defending campaign, content, and channel decisions; owning attribution and conversion tracking rigor; running quarterly marketing planning; coaching function leads on direction and standards; making build/buy/partner decisions on marketing tooling and AI-search stack; and representing marketing to the CEO and executive team. Sitemate operates on written, non-negotiable behavioral standards: ship your org chart (org design is marketing work); grow from within before opening external searches; build marketing like product (measured and reviewed like a product surface); don't offload thinking to the next person (briefs must be complete); single responsible owner on cross-functional work. You'll be held to Quality Certified (real numbers behind every decision), Fast Tracked (forcing functions on weighty decisions), and High Vis (pipeline, spend, and performance visible company-wide). REQUIREMENTS: Must have: - Marketing leadership experience through a comparable growth-stage transition - SaaS experience - Demand generation experience with direct ownership of a pipeline/MQL number - Content marketing experience spanning both SEO and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) - Performance marketing experience across paid channels, including rigorous, ecommerce-style paid acquisition - Technical fluency in attribution and conversion tracking, with hands-on experience setting it up or debugging Nice to have: - Vertical tech background - Experience building or owning marketing websites - Growth experience or close collaboration with growth leaders/teams Essential tools: - WordPress/Content Management Systems - AI Coding Tools (Claude Code, Open Code, Cursor) - Project Management Tools (Slack, Jira, Confluence) - Google Analytics - Google Search Console - Bing Search Console - Meta channels - Google Sheets
