Factory is building the engineering layer that transforms government access to modern AI/ML capabilities into production-grade, deployed software within federal boundaries and under agency authority. The company addresses a critical gap: while some organizations may have access to advanced models, translating that into organization-wide, compliant, maintained software remains a major challenge.
As VP of Federal, you will build and lead Factory's public sector business from the ground up, reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer. This is a builder's role for an experienced operator who has previously stood up a federal practice and wants to define a new category within government.
You will own Factory's entire federal revenue organization: strategy, hiring, and personal leadership of the highest-priority agency pursuits across Civilian, Defense, and Intelligence Community sectors. Your responsibilities include landing and expanding marquee agency accounts while navigating complex stakeholder ecosystems (mission owners, program offices, CIOs/CTOs, Authorizing Officials) from initial engagement through pilot to production scale.
You will build the federal pipeline across all acquisition pathways—GSA Schedules, GWACs, OTAs, sole-source, and reseller/marketplace vehicles. You'll relentlessly gather product feedback from customers to accelerate Factory's product success and stand up a partner ecosystem across systems integrators, resellers, and compliance partners (GDIT, Deloitte, Carahsoft, Second Front) to extend reach and accelerate deployment.
Working closely with Security, Product, and Engineering, you will advance Factory's authorization path (FedRAMP, IL4/5/6 via customer enclaves, air-gapped and on-prem deployment) and translate agency requirements into the product roadmap. You will recruit, hire, and lead a world-class federal team including account executives, solutions engineers, and partner managers as the business scales.
You will serve as Factory's senior representative to agency leadership, on Capitol Hill, and across the govtech community, building the relationships and trust that federal adoption requires. You own the numbers: forecast accurately, report pipeline and revenue with rigor, and instrument the federal motion for compounding growth.
The role is based in the Washington, DC area with regular travel to customers and Factory's San Francisco headquarters.
