Mistral is a full-stack AI company providing frontier models, developer tools, applications, and compute infrastructure. The company partners with enterprises across finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector to co-create customized AI systems.
As VP of Global Developer Relations, you will lead Mistral's strategy to engage and empower the global developer, scientific, and technical communities. You'll be the primary voice connecting Mistral's AI platform to developers—from startups and enterprises to researchers and open-source contributors.
Key responsibilities include:
**Build a Global Developer Movement**: Develop and execute a comprehensive global DevRel strategy that creates authentic, developer-first engagement through education, inspiration, and community. Foster a culture where developers naturally advocate for Mistral within their networks and projects.
**Engage and Inspire the Technical Community**: Lead high-impact initiatives including technical content (tutorials, blog posts, videos, documentation), community programs (hackathons, meetups, AMAs, Discord/Slack communities), and evangelism (conference talks, podcasts, technical deep dives). Translate complex AI innovations into accessible insights for developers.
**Enable Developer Success**: Build scalable enablement programs including onboarding guides, SDKs, APIs, and sample projects. Create feedback loops between the developer community and Product/Engineering teams to inform roadmap decisions based on real-world needs.
**Scale a World-Class DevRel Team**: Hire, mentor, and lead a global team of Developer Advocates, Engineers, and Evangelists with particular strength in Europe and San Francisco. Define metrics and KPIs to measure DevRel impact (adoption, community growth, engagement, advocacy). Lead from the front as a representative of Mistral at events and in communities.
**Drive Open Source & Ecosystem Growth**: Champion open-source contributions and collaborative innovation. Partner with startups, enterprises, and academic institutions to accelerate adoption. Identify and nurture key developer influencers, maintainers, and ambassadors.
You'll work cross-functionally with Product, Research, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, and Sales to ensure developers have the tools and resources to succeed.
Required qualifications: Proven leadership in Developer Relations, Developer Marketing, or Technical Evangelism for B2B technology companies (preferably AI, cloud, open-source). Deep technical credibility to engage with developers and engineers on their terms. Track record of building and nurturing technical communities. Strong storytelling and communication skills. Strategic and operational excellence in scaling DevRel globally. Collaborative mindset across functions.
Bonus: AI/ML/LLM experience, personal open-source contributions, experience leading global DevRel teams in high-growth markets, personal brand in developer/AI communities, experience launching developer-focused products.
