Vox Media's Podcast Network is seeking an experienced Video Producer for the award-winning show "On with Kara Swisher," which features prominent guests from politics, tech, and culture. This is a hands-on role combining technical video production, creative direction, and strategic content optimization.
You will manage the complete video workflow for longform episodes and social content, editing in Descript and Adobe Premiere to deliver polished content for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Responsibilities include assembling multi-camera/multi-track footage, designing motion graphics and visual elements, creating platform-optimized thumbnails and captions, and recording/directing host intros. You'll also write and edit scripts collaboratively with show teams, ensuring editorial clarity and visual pacing.
Beyond production, you'll mentor freelance editors and designers, manage vendor relationships, and collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, social, and audience development teams to meet performance goals. You'll stay current on visual trends and platform best practices, offering strategic insights to help the show evolve and grow.
Required qualifications include 6–8+ years of digital video production experience, particularly with podcasts and social platforms. You need strong editing skills in Adobe Premiere, motion design capability in After Effects or similar tools, and demonstrated success with both longform and shortform content in interview-driven formats. Experience managing freelancers, excellent editorial judgment, and deep knowledge of YouTube, TikTok, and Reels ecosystems are essential. A collaborative, consultative working style and ability to integrate into existing teams are key.
