Scopely is seeking a Senior UX Designer to join the Star Trek Fleet Command team, a top-grossing 4X Strategy MMO launched in 2018. This is a remote role based in the UK within the Live Games Portfolio division.
You will own and deliver complete UX for new features and player experiences, turning ideas into fully developed designs that meet product experience targets. Key responsibilities include:
- Shape the future of UX design on STFC through new features, principles, practices, and standards
- Own end-to-end UX delivery for new features, from concept to implementation
- Build deep knowledge of the game to step into the player's shoes and ground design decisions in real player perspectives
- Research relevant references and competitive designs, deconstructing them to uncover inspiration and common pitfalls
- Produce design deliverables including sketches, low-to-medium fidelity wireframes, user flows, and interactive UX prototypes
- Apply critical thinking to identify weak points, gaps, and opportunities to strengthen solutions
- Collaborate closely with product teams, game designers, and artists to refine ideas and maintain alignment throughout development
- Leverage feedback, data, and insights to make intentional design improvements
- Support long-term product and UX consistency through design principles and patterns
Required qualifications:
- Extensive experience specializing in game UX development with a track record of delivering features from concept to implementation
- Confidence navigating ambiguity, identifying next steps, recognizing blockers, and taking initiative
- Solutions-oriented mindset with thoughtful, creative problem-solving abilities
- Strong understanding of game development norms, pipelines, technical constraints, and cross-discipline workflows
