Scopely, a leading mobile games publisher and developer, is seeking a Senior UX Designer to join the Star Trek Fleet Command team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis. Star Trek Fleet Command is a top-grossing 4X Strategy MMO launched in 2018 that continues to evolve and engage millions of players globally. In this role, you will own and deliver complete UX for new features and player experiences, transforming ideas into fully developed designs that meet product experience targets. You'll help shape the future of UX design on STFC through new features, principles, practices, and standards. Key responsibilities include building deep knowledge of the game to step into the player's shoes, grounding design decisions in real player perspectives and experiences. You will produce a range of design deliverables including sketches, low to medium fidelity wireframes, user flows, and interactive UX prototypes. You'll identify weak points in designs and gaps in thinking, applying critical thinking and a sharp design eye to strengthen solutions. Collaboration is central to the role—you'll work closely with product teams, game designers, and artists to refine ideas and stay aligned throughout development. You'll proactively share work, keep stakeholders informed, and leverage feedback, data, and insights to refine designs intentionally. The ideal candidate has extensive experience specializing in game UX development with a track record of delivering features from concept to implementation. You should be confident navigating ambiguity, identifying next steps, recognizing blockers, and taking initiative to move work forward. A solutions-oriented mindset that goes beyond identifying problems is essential. You'll need a strong understanding of game development norms and pipelines, including how to design with technical constraints, implementation realities, and cross-discipline workflows in mind. A genuine passion for both playing and making games, paired with curiosity, creativity, and collaboration, is key to thriving in Scopely's culture.
