Cohesity is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead a transformational shift in how software is built, validated, secured, and deployed. This is a strategic leadership role overseeing Developer Experience, AI-enabled SDLC, and Security Operations across a globally distributed organization.
You will manage a team of Directors and Senior Directors spanning Developer Experience, CI/CD, test infrastructure, engineering automation, DevSecOps, and engineering intelligence. Your mission is to enable developers and AI agents to ship dramatically faster while continuously raising the bar on quality, security, and cost efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and scaling a globally distributed engineering organization with a multi-year strategy and operating model that scales with AI-driven velocity
- Building an internal developer platform that eliminates friction from idea to production, featuring self-service environments, AI-powered dev tooling, and analytics
- Evolving CI/CD and test infrastructure into intelligent delivery systems with AI-driven, risk-adaptive test selection
- Developing AI-powered code review and automated remediation systems that perform semantic analysis, security scanning, and architecture compliance at machine scale
- Owning Product Security Operations, embedding security directly into engineering workflows with automated remediation
- Driving engineering economics by establishing cost-per-developer and cost-per-deployment metrics
- Closing the production-to-development learning loop to continuously improve engineering intelligence
The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of engineering leadership experience managing large, multi-layered global organizations. You should have a proven track record leading Developer Experience, Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Engineering Productivity organizations at scale. Deep technical understanding of CI/CD, distributed systems, DevSecOps, and hands-on experience applying AI/ML and agentic frameworks to engineering workflows is essential.
You think in systems rather than tools, understand that developer experience is a competitive advantage, and are AI-native in your approach. You engage credibly with senior engineers on complex technical topics and believe secure software is the natural output of a well-designed engineering system. You've successfully moved organizations from legacy processes to fundamentally new operating models.
