Ascent Developer Solutions is a leading private lending platform serving real estate developers nationwide in acquisition, renovation, and construction of residential real estate. The VP, Loan Officer role is responsible for originating new loan opportunities and converting leads to drive loan production and meet origination goals. Key responsibilities include: generating new loan business through personal networks and Ascent data sources; working with internal Relationship Managers to build long-term partnerships and increase wallet share; analyzing and structuring Multi-Family, Single Family, Homebuilder, Build-to-Rent, and Manufactured Housing bridge, renovation, and construction loans; evaluating borrower financial packages and operational capability; presenting loan opportunities to approval authorities; assisting with first-time borrower approval processes; managing the loan pipeline and collaborating cross-functionally to resolve issues and improve execution speed; maintaining regular borrower communication through meetings, calls, and emails; utilizing CRM and portfolio analytics to monitor borrower activity and identify opportunities; assisting in resolving borrower issues and proactively addressing portfolio risks; and supporting cross-functional initiatives as needed. Required qualifications: 5+ years of experience originating commercial real estate loans (SFR, multi-residential, homebuilder, bridge, renovation, and construction); demonstrated experience analyzing and structuring commercial loan transactions; excellent communication and relationship-building skills with proven ability to manage relationships with sophisticated borrowers and internal stakeholders; excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Office, CRM platforms, and business applications; highly organized, analytical, and self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. California Real Estate License or ability to obtain one is preferred. The role is based in Ascent's Boston office with hybrid flexibility: Monday–Thursday on-site, Fridays work-from-home. Compensation is commensurate with top producers in construction lending, featuring a generous base salary based on production experience and a commission-based bonus plan rewarding top achievers.
