Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Vehicle Systems Lead to own the technical development and integration of vehicle systems for a maritime product from concept through delivery. This is a leadership role within the Maritime Division, responsible for planning and executing product and revenue roadmap for maritime missions.
You will lead cross-functional teams spanning product, engineering, business development, logistics, and operations. Key responsibilities include: ownership of vehicle system architecture, interfaces, and performance against program and product requirements; schedule and execution ownership across product generations including prototype testing, demonstrations, and transition to manufacturing; responsibility for developmental budget and cost performance; technical leadership ensuring performance, design compliance, and issue resolution; escalation path for technical decision-making; representation in leadership and customer meetings; leading team meetings at necessary cadences; interfacing with Chief Engineer and system leads on technical challenges; coordinating with Production, Payloads, Mission Systems, Field Operations, Product Management, and Sustainment teams; driving platform-level trade studies; and mentoring Senior and Principal engineers toward platform leadership roles.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; extensive professional experience as an engineer with expertise in one or more domains/technologies; extensive experience as a project lead or manager driving execution across diverse engineering disciplines; extensive experience with detailed project planning at product or system level; experience with projects transitioning from prototype design through production; ability to work in fast-paced environment with strong organizational and triage skills.
Preferred: Experience with design, implementation, and support of robotic and/or autonomous systems; maritime or naval systems experience; experience with AI-powered systems or Lattice OS; familiarity with defense contracting and military acquisition processes.
