Veeam is seeking a Director of Solutions Engineering to lead the Kasten (Kubernetes-native data protection) pre-sales organization across EMEA and APJ regions. Reporting to the Worldwide Kasten Solution Sales leader, you will build and scale a distributed team of senior specialist solutions engineers and architects, driving technical win rates and deepening Kasten expertise across the broader Veeam field organization.
You will own the technical strategy and execution for both regions, setting standards for discovery, solution architecture, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll inherit an established senior team and elevate their technical execution, coverage, and positioning. You'll partner closely with regional sales leadership on territory planning, pipeline development, and pursuit strategy, while maintaining credibility with enterprise architects and technical executives.
Key responsibilities include: leading and developing a distributed team across multiple countries and time zones; owning technical win metrics and accountability; partnering on territory planning and business reviews; building Kasten and VDP Proxy capability across the wider Veeam field organization through enablement and certification; developing ecosystem relationships with partners like Red Hat, AWS, SUSE, and regional system integrators; and traveling up to 30% across both regions.
You bring 8+ years of pre-sales or solutions engineering experience in enterprise software, with 3+ years in people leadership. You have a track record leading pre-sales teams across multiple countries, hands-on Kubernetes and virtualization experience, and success supporting complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals. You can translate technical capabilities into business value and present credibly to senior audiences. Bonus experience includes DevOps/Platform Engineering sales background, Kubernetes data protection expertise, leadership in high-growth environments, and credibility in the cloud-native community.
