OpenAI's Go To Market team is seeking a VC Partnerships Manager to build and manage relationships with top venture capital funds and startup accelerators. The role focuses on supporting portfolio companies in leveraging OpenAI's AI models and APIs to drive innovation and growth.
You will develop strategies to drive adoption of OpenAI's models across thousands of startups, identify opportunities for 1:many engagements and events for founders, and provide technical guidance in partnership with internal teams. Key responsibilities include managing partner-level relationships with VCs and accelerators, representing OpenAI at ecosystem events, analyzing metrics within startup portfolios, and serving as an advocate for improving the startup experience with OpenAI's products.
This is a cross-functional role requiring collaboration with product, research, engineering, marketing, support, and solutions architecture teams. You'll monitor industry and startup landscapes to inform product roadmap and corporate strategy, support team recruitment and onboarding, and contribute to company culture development.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years managing high-value external relationships with founders and C-level executives, preferably with experience as a founder, venture investor, or early employee at a fast-growing startup. You should have technical understanding of AI technologies, strong public speaking skills, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly. The role requires passion for the startup ecosystem, customer-centric thinking, strategic planning capabilities, and comfort with ambiguity and new challenges.
Based in San Francisco with a hybrid work model (3 days/week in office), the company offers relocation assistance for new employees.
