Alan is a fast-growing European health tech company building the new standard in prevention insurance, integrating insurance, prevention, and care into a single user experience. The company serves 1M+ members across 40K+ companies and has reached €800M+ in ARR, with 800+ employees across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada.
The Union Relations Lead will build and animate Alan's relationships with French unions, their federations, and the broader paritariste ecosystem, positioning Alan as a trusted and substantive interlocutor of French social partners. This role operates at the highest levels of the paritariste ecosystem—from CFDT and FO confederal leadership to sector federations, IP boards, and organisations patronales.
Key responsibilities include:
**Relationships & Presence**: Build and maintain long-term trusted relationships with unions, federations, and paritariste institutions across sectors relevant to Alan. Map the ecosystem, prioritize interlocutors, and design engagement strategy at confederal, federal, and branch levels. Represent Alan in federations, working groups, congrès, and paritariste institutions, becoming the credible consistent voice social partners recognize.
**Partnership with Enterprise & Public Sector Teams**: Partner with Alan's teams serving large private employers and public sector clients by briefing them on social partner context and how Alan's offerings align with their priorities. Introduce the right contacts at critical moments in the commercial cycle to convert ecosystem relationships into commercial leverage. Share Alan's content to help social partners assess the company on its merits.
**Sector Engagement & Anticipation**: Monitor dialogue at branch level and across the paritariste ecosystem, translating understanding into internal clarity. Represent Alan in federations and working groups where the sector's future is discussed, contributing a constructive and recognizable voice. Provide early internal insight on social dialogue direction and implications for Alan's strategy.
**Build & Scale**: Develop and maintain a knowledge library on social partner positions, branch agreements, and paritariste institutions for Enterprise and Public Sector deal teams to increase win rates. Implement processes and AI tools to improve quality and efficiency of social partner engagement. Share best practices across the broader Enterprise & Public Sector team and contribute proven methodologies to scaled commercial operations. Provide competitive intelligence on how social partners and competitors position themselves in key markets.
This is a role where you shape strategy from day one, not just execute it. You'll work directly with founders, public affairs leadership, and enterprise/public sector teams in one of Europe's fastest-growing tech unicorns.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 8 years of total experience in social partner relations: in a union organization, branch federation, paritariste institution, or external affairs role at a mutuelle, IP, or insurer
- Legitimate credibility at federation level with ability to engage federation leadership as a peer, built through personal representative experience or years of substantive engagement at federation level on the employer side
- Deep knowledge of the paritariste ecosystem: branch agreements, confederal mandates, protection sociale reforms, and institutional functioning at each level
- Proven ability to build trust with social partners from employer/state side
- Outstanding stakeholder management: calm, long-game thinking, trustworthy, discreet, able to represent Alan substantively without self-promotion
- Ability to translate Alan's product and strategy into compelling narratives for social partner audiences
- Demonstrable impact from prior social-partner work on organizational commercial and strategic outcomes
- Self-starter comfortable building from scratch in fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Ego-free, lever-minded approach: accelerate others rather than seeking spotlight
- Based in or willing to relocate to Paris
**Nice to have**:
- Confederal or federal elected/permanent experience
- Experience inside a paritariste institution
- Experience inside a sector federation on social dialogue agenda
- Legal background in droit social with comfort reading accords collectifs quickly
- International exposure to European social dialogue ecosystem
- Prior experience with RFPs or tenders involving union-negotiated or paritariste schemes
