Mollie, a European payments and money management platform serving 250,000+ businesses, is building its Treasury function from the ground up. As Treasury Manager for Asset & Liability Management (ALM), you will be one of the first people to establish this critical function—a genuine 0-to-1 role with no legacy frameworks to maintain. Your core responsibilities will include: - Design and build Mollie's liquidity risk framework from scratch, including ILAAP (Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process), LCR/NSFR monitoring, and liquidity stress testing methodologies. - Develop the company's approach to interest rate risk and credit spread risk in the banking book (IRRBB/CSRBB), spanning risk identification, model development, limit-setting, and hedging strategy. - Contribute to funding and balance sheet strategy design, including deposit mix optimization, funding diversification, and balance sheet construction. - Build the Contingency Funding Plan and early-warning indicators to ensure Mollie can respond effectively to stress scenarios. - Create clear, well-documented policies, methodologies, and models that will withstand scrutiny from DNB/ECB regulators, external auditors, and internal governance. - Support senior leadership (ALCO and equivalent bodies) with analysis, reporting, and recommendations for sound balance sheet decisions. - Partner with Risk, Finance, and external advisors to ensure Treasury frameworks align with Mollie's risk appetite and governance standards. Your work will directly feed into Mollie's banking license application and, post-authorization, into how the company operationally manages liquidity and funding risks. As Mollie transitions from application to operation, your scope will expand from framework design to active management. Mollie operates across 14+ European locations with 950+ employees, emphasizing autonomy, craft, and small-team ownership. The company provides tools, reliable processes, and a balanced work environment to support meaningful work. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years of experience in Treasury, ALM, or balance sheet risk management, ideally in banking; experience in fintech, payment service providers (PSPs), or consultancy building similar frameworks is also valued. - Solid working knowledge of liquidity risk (LCR/NSFR, ILAAP) and/or interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB/CSRBB); deep expertise in both is not required, but understanding how they connect to the overall balance sheet is essential. - Comfort building models and frameworks from a blank page; you thrive without a pre-established playbook and are excited to create the first one. - Strong quantitative skills and Excel/financial modeling expertise, with discipline to document logic clearly for regulatory and stakeholder review. - Ability to explain complex balance sheet risk topics to non-specialists and confidence to defend recommendations to senior stakeholders. - Curiosity about how AI can automate routine work, freeing your time for judgment and design.
