Nearmap is a SaaS company with proprietary hardware and software that delivers aerial imagery, AI-driven analytics, and geospatial tools for property intelligence. Reporting to the Manager of Group Reporting, you will be an experienced, hands-on member of the Group Accounting team, owning key parts of financial reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness. You will drive month-end close, Group consolidation, and preparation of statutory financial statements. You'll bring strong expertise in Australian tax, transfer pricing, and process improvement. You'll partner with Financial Control, FP&A, and Commercial Finance teams across Australia and the US, as well as external auditors and tax advisors. Key responsibilities include: owning month-end close with balance sheet reconciliations and journal posting; managing the Group consolidation process for accuracy and timeliness; leading preparation of monthly and annual statutory financial statements; preparing monthly variance analysis for management review; leading external audits as central point of contact; managing direct tax and transfer pricing matters including compliance documentation; preparing and reconciling intercompany transactions; liaising with the ATO and state/territory revenue offices; monitoring and researching new accounting standards; identifying and driving process improvement initiatives; and contributing to ad hoc finance projects. This is an ideal next step for an experienced Accountant/Assistant Manager or newly promoted Manager from Big 4 or tier 2 consulting background seeking real ownership inside a fast-moving, PE-owned business. You'll work closely with the Senior Group Accountant, Manager of Group Reporting, and Director of Group Reporting. The role offers hybrid flexibility at the Sydney CBD office (Barangaroo), with in-office lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and a supportive, inclusive culture focused on innovation and impact. Requirements: - Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, or related field - CA/CPA qualification (required) - 4+ years experience in Accounting or Finance role with exposure to financial reporting and global consolidations (essential) - Exposure to multi-currency consolidations, transfer pricing, and tax experience (viewed favorably) - Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) - Big 4 or tier 2 consulting experience, or exposure to ASX-listed or SaaS/subscription business (viewed favorably) - Advanced Excel skills; experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, and similar accounting/ERP systems (preferable) - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to deliver complex messages simply - Strong time management and attention to detail; ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment - Detail-oriented with systems thinking approach; creative problem-solving ability; curiosity about accounting standards and processes; strong team collaboration skills
