Rippling is a unified platform for HR, IT, and Finance that consolidates workforce systems including payroll, expenses, benefits, and device management. The company has raised $1.4B+ from top-tier investors and is based in San Francisco. As Corporate Accounting Manager, you will lead operating expense accounting activities and own key areas including month-end accrual review, fixed assets, prepaids, intercompany transactions, leases, payroll and benefits accounting, and accounting estimates. You'll be instrumental in building new processes, improving existing workflows, and ensuring compliance and accuracy in functional department income statement reporting during month-end and financial reporting cycles. Key Responsibilities: - Serve as primary point of contact for opex accounting, operations, and close activities - Lead the month-end accruals process and prepare detailed workpapers, providing constructive feedback to improve quality - Work with procurement to ensure contracts are processed, categorized, approved, and recorded per policy - Own accounting for new opex initiatives, including long-term contract terms and vendor impact analysis - Collaborate with Procurement, Accounts Payable, FP&A, and business partners to record accurate accruals and drive process efficiencies - Design and implement scalable processes ensuring proper opex accounting treatment in compliance with US GAAP and international standards - Focus on data accuracy, monitoring, and develop reports for management review and strategic decision-making - Support ad-hoc financial analyses for operational needs - Play a key role in SOX initiatives, documenting internal controls and implementing improvements - Own critical payroll operations including payroll creation/approval, 401k compliance audits, and external audit support - Lead and drive a high-caliber team with integrity and accountability Requirements: - 8+ years in operational and related accounting roles; mix of public company and Big 4 audit experience preferred - Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CA CPA preferred - Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls with focus on data management and compliance - High attention to detail in data entry, financial reporting, and variance analysis - Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with timely and accurate execution - Strong verbal and written communication skills to present findings and engage with management and business partners - Experience with Rippling payroll and spend management applications preferred
