Salary: USD 75,000 - 85,000 / annual
Blank Street is seeking a Training Associate to elevate barista and shift lead training across their Washington DC and Philadelphia markets. Reporting to the Senior Training Manager, you'll oversee new hire onboarding through accreditation, conducting in-store coaching and large-group trainings at the lab. You'll validate each barista's progression through the training program, facilitate final bar assessments, and lead shift lead certifications.
Key responsibilities include driving product quality standards through quarterly assessments across all DC and Philadelphia stores, developing actionable reporting for field leaders, and maintaining in-depth knowledge of all products and recipes to ensure quality adherence. You'll support new product launches, seasonal drink trainings, and new store openings while fostering a learning culture through creative initiatives like Latte Art Throw Downs.
You'll partner closely with Operations to identify training improvements, create action plans, and share field feedback to strengthen programs and processes. Additionally, you'll develop cross-functional relationships to build effective reporting tools that provide insight into store performance and support the training and development of future Training Coordinators.
The role requires 2+ years of barista and training experience, expert milk steaming skills, and latte art proficiency. You must be comfortable traveling regularly between DC and Philadelphia stores and working flexible hours including weekends. This is a full-time position (50 hours/week, 5 days/week) requiring strong time management, excellent communication, and a passion for coffee and employee development.
