Mirum Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company focused on rare disease treatment, seeks a Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) for its Liver portfolio. This role is responsible for delivering strong business performance and meaningful patient impact across an assigned territory, with a focus on rare cholestatic liver diseases.
The TAM develops deep clinical and account expertise, identifies and prioritizes high-opportunity customers and referral networks, and executes customized account plans that advance disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration, and persistence. The ideal candidate is a clinically credible, insight-led partner who engages healthcare professionals as a peer, asks thoughtful questions, and influences change across complex accounts.
Key responsibilities include: developing and executing focused territory business plans aligned with national and regional priorities; using performance data and market intelligence to identify opportunities and adjust strategy; maintaining accurate customer records and forecasts; identifying and developing high-opportunity accounts across pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology; creating customized account plans reflecting local patient journeys and clinical decision-making; building trusted relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and pharmacists; mapping influence and decision-making within complex accounts; developing deep knowledge of rare cholestatic liver disease, diagnostic pathways, mechanisms of action, and clinical data; communicating complex scientific information clearly and credibly; engaging healthcare professionals with insightful questions and active listening; executing approved promotional programs with full regulatory adherence; helping customers recognize gaps in disease awareness and patient identification; using emotional intelligence and curiosity to build trust with change-resistant professionals; and influencing multiple stakeholders without authority.
The role requires strong clinical aptitude, strategic account management skills, and the ability to balance persistence with empathy and respect for customer boundaries. Success is measured by territory business objectives, customer engagement quality, and meaningful patient impact.
