Mirum Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company focused on rare diseases, is seeking a Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) for the Liver portfolio covering Manhattan North territory. This role combines strategic account management with clinical expertise in rare cholestatic liver diseases.
You will develop and execute territory business plans aligned with regional priorities, identifying and prioritizing high-opportunity customers, accounts, and referral networks across pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology practices. The TAM creates customized account plans reflecting local patient journeys, key stakeholders, clinical decision-making, and access considerations.
Key responsibilities include building trusted relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, and care team members by delivering relevant value and consistent follow-through. You'll map influence and decision-making within complex accounts, establish clear engagement objectives, and coordinate compliant actions across field partners.
The ideal candidate is a clinically credible, insight-led partner who engages healthcare professionals as a peer, asks thoughtful questions, and constructively challenges clinical inertia. You'll develop deep knowledge of rare cholestatic liver disease, diagnostic pathways, mechanisms of action, clinical data, product profiles, approved uses, safety information, and the competitive landscape. You'll communicate complex scientific information clearly and tailor discussions to each healthcare professional's knowledge and priorities.
This role requires high emotional intelligence, curiosity, resilience, and ownership. You'll help customers recognize gaps in disease awareness, patient identification, and treatment consideration by reframing issues and connecting insights across the patient journey. You'll influence multiple stakeholders without authority, navigate resistance constructively, and balance persistence with empathy and respect for customer boundaries.
Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate customer records, forecasts, expense reporting, and administrative documentation; using performance data and market intelligence to identify opportunities and adjust strategy; and executing approved promotional programs with full adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
