Halter is a venture-backed climate tech company providing virtual fencing technology to enable farmers and ranchers to run more productive and sustainable operations. The company has raised funding from tier-1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, DCVC, and others.
As Territory Manager for the South East Wyoming region, you will drive new business growth and ensure customer success within your designated territory. This is a hands-on, field-based sales role requiring frequent travel across ranches and agricultural communities.
Key responsibilities include:
**New Business Development**: Prospect actively by visiting ranches, attending cattle auctions, and engaging with local Livestock and Cattlemen's associations. Manage inbound leads promptly and balance administrative tasks with field activities to build a strong pipeline.
**In-Field Sales**: Conduct consultative sales conversations in the customer's environment—on horseback, in side-by-sides, or at kitchen tables. Demonstrate Halter's virtual fencing technology by helping customers understand how it solves their operational challenges. Build relationships before discussing product benefits.
**Account Expansion**: Identify opportunities to expand relationships with existing customers. Since ranchers typically don't collar all cattle initially, you'll work to increase adoption and value over time.
**Sales Performance**: Manage ambitious growth targets with disciplined pipeline management. Balance closing current deals while building next month's opportunities.
**Customer Success & Onboarding**: Own the end-to-end customer experience from sale through deployment. Ensure smooth handoffs to onboarding and support teams. Maintain close relationships post-sale to address challenges and maximize product value.
**Territory Ownership**: Act as Halter's on-the-ground representative, building lasting relationships with regional stakeholders, agricultural agencies, and industry groups. Take pride in comprehensive territory coverage and strategic relationship-building.
You'll work cross-functionally with Product, Support, and Customer Onboarding teams, sharing field insights to inform product development and ensure Halter's technology meets farmer needs.
