Diagrid is seeking a Technology Evangelist to be the public face and community heartbeat of Dapr (a CNCF graduated open-source project) and Diagrid's commercial platform (Diagrid Catalyst). Founded by the creators of Dapr and KEDA, Diagrid is backed by top-tier VCs and advisors including Kubernetes co-founder Joe Beda and Envoy creator Matt Klein.
In this high-impact, high-visibility role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, you will own community growth, content creation, and developer engagement end-to-end. You'll be the primary voice connecting developers, the open-source community, and the Diagrid team.
Key responsibilities include: growing the Dapr open-source community across GitHub and Discord; moderating community platforms and fostering a welcoming ecosystem; creating high-quality technical content including blog posts, tutorials, architectural guides, and sample applications; leading webinars, workshops, and live technical demos; managing the Dapr/Diagrid YouTube channel (scripting, recording, editing, publishing); organizing and hosting meetups, Dapr Days, and conference talks; building reference architectures and demo applications showcasing Dapr in production and AI agent use cases; gathering developer feedback to influence product direction; and representing Diagrid at conferences, on podcasts, and across social media.
You'll work closely with Engineering, Product, Marketing, Sales, and the broader open-source maintainer community. This role requires someone who loves coding in public, building communities, and translating complex distributed systems and AI agent concepts into approachable, delightful experiences.
Ideal candidates have 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong knowledge of distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, or microservices. Prior experience as a Technology Evangelist, Developer Relations professional, Developer Advocate, or Community Manager is expected. You should be deeply familiar with Dapr or similar projects (Temporal, Camunda, Orkes) and have a proven track record of creating content (blogs, videos, talks, open-source contributions) that gained traction. Strong communication skills, hands-on coding ability (Python, Go, TypeScript, .NET), and experience building communities (moderating Discord/Slack, growing OSS projects, running meetups) are essential. Conference speaking experience, AI agent expertise, and existing relationships in cloud-native or AI developer communities are nice-to-haves.
