ARX Robotics is seeking a Technical Writer (Engineering) to own the documentation strategy for advanced autonomous robotic systems deployed by militaries and first responders across Europe. This role bridges complex engineering reality with the operators, maintainers, and certifiers who depend on these systems in the field. You will collaborate closely with System Engineering, Safety and Mission Assurance, and Product Development teams to translate highly technical content into structured, accessible, and regulation-compliant documentation. Your deliverables will include operating manuals, maintenance instructions, configuration records, CE documentation packages (Machinery Regulation, EMC Directive, Radio Equipment Directive, Low Voltage Directive), technical illustrations, schematics, and customer-facing materials tailored to demanding operational environments. Key responsibilities include building a comprehensive technical documentation library; creating CE documentation aligned with applicable EU regulations; developing technical illustrations and graphics that clarify complex system architectures; establishing structured electronic documentation systems for internal and external stakeholders; implementing change management processes to keep documentation current; and managing documentation project plans to meet quality, timeline, and budget expectations. You bring a degree in Information Technology, Technical Communications, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience. You excel at translating complex technical concepts into clear, structured, and genuinely useful language. You are methodical about documentation structure, consistency, and accuracy. Fluent German and strong English (written and spoken) are essential. Familiarity with military documentation standards such as IEC/IEEE 82079-1 or ISO 20607 is a plus but not required. ARX is a dual-use technology company specializing in autonomous unmanned systems and sensors for the European defence sector, supporting NATO armies and civilian first responders. The company offers competitive compensation with bonus opportunity, 27–30 vacation days, employer-supported pension, learning and development support, hybrid working, structured salary bands, and relocation support.
