LVT (LiveView Technologies) is seeking a Technical Writer to create and maintain high-quality documentation for its hardware and software ecosystems. In this role, you will partner with product managers, hardware engineers, software developers, and field teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guides for internal teams and external customers. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where curiosity and attention to detail drive continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Draft, edit, and maintain hardware technical documentation including field installation guides, preventive maintenance manuals, and troubleshooting procedures
- Conduct hands-on teardowns and observations at manufacturing facilities of mobile solar units, mast assemblies, power subsystems, and camera/sensor payloads
- Review engineering drawings, CAD models (SolidWorks), BOMs, and ECOs to ensure documentation aligns with hardware baselines
- Draft and format single-source content within Component Content Management Systems (CCMS) like Paligo or MadCap Flare
- Partner with hardware engineering and safety teams on regulatory compliance, electrical safety, and deployment standards
- Develop visual documentation by capturing photos, annotating schematics, and creating exploded view diagrams
- Plan and execute end-to-end media creation including video shoots, editing instructional footage, and establishing visual standards
- Establish content performance metrics and feedback channels with field operations and customer support to identify gaps and reduce support ticket volume
- Translate complex electro-mechanical concepts into standardized, easy-to-follow procedures
Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of technical writing experience supporting hardware products in fast-growing tech environments, proficiency with CCMS tools (Paligo, MadCap Flare, Arbortext), familiarity with video capture and editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Camtasia, Final Cut Pro), comfort interpreting engineering documentation and CAD files, and strong cross-functional communication skills. The role is full-time, in-office at headquarters in American Fork, Utah.
