Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to partner with the Test & Evaluation group to generate and maintain developmental test and operation-focused technical documentation. The role is foundational in setting quality standards for written artifacts and growing the technical documentation function across the organization. You will work closely with test engineers, pilots, and subject matter experts to understand product usage, identify documentation gaps, and create comprehensive written content. Your mission is to ensure front-line decision makers have the best tools and information about Anduril systems through exceptionally written and presented artifacts, while building world-class infrastructure and tooling for documentation at scale. Documentation artifacts include checklists, procedures, operational manuals, maintenance manuals, templates, user guides, release notes, troubleshooting guides, and API documentation. You will partner across test engineering, product management, and business units throughout all phases of product development—from need-finding through field testing and validation. Key responsibilities: Build partnerships across the business to understand users and products, with focus on hardware and supporting software used by Test & Evaluation and operators. Generate, review, and edit high-quality, test-focused documentation. Research technical subject matter, organize information from multiple sources, and express complex information comprehensibly to diverse audiences. Contribute to Anduril's technical writing toolkit, including style guides and documentation lifecycle processes. Required: Bachelor's degree in English, communications, linguistics, or equivalent technical experience. 5+ years generating technical documentation. Previous aerospace industry and/or DoD documentation experience. Familiarity with military writing standards (412TW-TIH-20-01). Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation. Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work autonomously, manage competing demands and tight deadlines. Basic development proficiency to apply software best practices to documentation systems. Active Secret security clearance (Top Secret preferred). Preferred: Bachelor's in technical discipline. 7+ years technical documentation experience. Experience with developmental aircraft (manned or UAS), weapons, or missile systems. Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint. S1000D compliant technical publications experience. Understanding of DoD logistics processes.
