Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to partner with the Test & Evaluation group to generate and maintain developmental test and operation-focused technical documentation. The role focuses on creating high-quality written artifacts that support military systems powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system for command and control. You will work closely with test engineers, pilots, and subject matter experts to understand product usage, identify documentation gaps, and create comprehensive technical materials. Your responsibilities include building partnerships across the business to understand users and products, generating and editing test-focused documentation, researching complex technical subjects and expressing them clearly for diverse audiences, and contributing to Anduril's technical writing toolkit including style guides and documentation lifecycle processes. Documentation artifacts include checklists, procedures, operational manuals, maintenance manuals, user guides, release notes, troubleshooting guides, and API documentation. You will partner with test engineering, product management, and business teams across all product development phases—from need-finding through field testing and validation—to ensure operators have the right information available. The Test & Evaluation team works across all products and business lines, conducting full system-level development testing, production acceptance testing, and sub-component qualification testing. This is a fast-paced environment where your work directly impacts fielded products and military capabilities. Required: Bachelor's degree in English, communications, linguistics, or related field (or equivalent technical experience); 5+ years generating technical documentation; previous aerospace/DoD documentation experience; familiarity with military writing standards (412TW-TIH-20-01); ability to read engineering documentation; proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, XML, Visio; strong written and verbal communication; ability to work autonomously with competing demands; basic development proficiency; passion for documentation excellence; active Secret security clearance (Top Secret preferred). Preferred: Bachelor's in technical discipline; 7+ years technical documentation experience; developmental aircraft, weapons, or missile systems documentation; team workspace software (JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Teamcenter); S1000D compliant technical publications (XML, Arbortext, Rapidauthor); DoD logistics process understanding.
