Commerce (parent company of BigCommerce, Feedonomics, and Makeswift) is seeking a Technical Training Content Developer to join their Training team. This role sits at the intersection of technical content ownership and enterprise training delivery, reporting to the Manager of Training.
You will own and maintain Commerce product and developer learning content, ensuring accuracy and relevance with each platform release. Key responsibilities include:
Content Ownership & Development: Create, maintain, and update Commerce product training and technical learning content. Partner with Product, Engineering, and Professional Services to translate platform changes into engaging learning materials across all formats. Produce product and developer-focused video content including scripting, narration, and screen recordings covering new features, FAQs, and platform capabilities. Implement adult learning best practices and leverage AI tools to accelerate content creation and enhance learner experience.
Training Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement: Deliver customized virtual and in-person training for enterprise merchants, agency partners, and internal teams. Conduct scoping calls to understand business objectives and provide personalized training recommendations. Establish strong relationships with Product, Engineering, Professional Services, Account Management, and Marketing teams. Manage training action plans and coordinate scheduling and administration of learning sessions.
Required Qualifications: 3–5 years in technology with focus on technical writing, instructional design, product training, or developer education. Working knowledge of GitHub and local development practices (Next.js, Nuxt.js). Experience with ecommerce tools including SaaS, open source storefronts, headless implementations, POS, PIM, OMS, ERP, and payment gateways. Solid technical foundation with comfort around APIs, Postman, front-end development tools, HTML/CSS/JS. Exceptional communication skills able to explain complex topics to diverse audiences. Proactive, transparent communicator comfortable in matrixed organizations. Strong organizational skills managing multiple projects independently in fast-paced environments. Natural collaborator and quick learner.
