DEFCON AI is an AI-driven insights company specializing in resilient optimization of complex systems for defense and government sectors. The company is hiring a Technical Talent Acquisition Partner to lead their next phase of growth.
Reporting directly to the Head of HR, this role is 80%+ focused on technical recruiting across specialized engineering positions (Senior Software Engineers, DevSecOps Engineers, AI/ML Engineers, Data Engineers) and non-technical roles. You will own the full-cycle hiring process end-to-end, from sourcing through offer negotiation.
A critical differentiator for this role is deep expertise in Department of Defense (DoD) and government contracting talent acquisition. You must understand the unique scope, timelines, candidate pools, and security clearance requirements specific to defense contracts. You will proactively build pipelines of elite passive talent within AI and Defense sectors, with focus on candidates holding or eligible for security clearances.
Beyond recruiting, you will take full ownership of the onboarding program, evolving it from manual processes into a scalable, "day-one ready" experience. This frees the Head of HR to focus on broader People strategy as the company scales.
Key responsibilities include: leading full-cycle technical and non-technical hiring; bringing established fluency in DoD programs and government contracts; partnering closely with hiring managers to scope roles and align on candidate profiles; strategically sourcing elite passive talent with clearance eligibility; and continuously refining the candidate experience and interview process.
This is a true right-hand role for the Head of HR, requiring both recruiting excellence and operational acumen to scale People processes alongside company growth.
