Zoox is seeking a Technical Program Manager to own the triage and escalation system for defects, live-service issues, and safety-critical events in autonomous vehicle development. This role sits at the intersection of operations, engineering, and leadership, responsible for ensuring that issues are accurately classified, routed to the right teams, and tracked through resolution. Key responsibilities include: • Drive triage accuracy and routing by running triage reviews that classify defects, high-severity live-service issues, and safety-critical events, ensuring they reach the appropriate downstream teams. • Measure and improve triage health by tracking throughput, misclassification rates, latency, backlog aging, automation coverage, and regulatory-reportable issues. Use these metrics to flag risks early and provide leadership with decision-ready updates. • Program-manage triage tooling and automation by bringing requirements to the dedicated tools and automation team, sequencing automation priorities, and tracking delivery, adoption, and capacity gains. • Manage intake and escalation by maintaining intake paths, escalation criteria, and shared boards that partner teams depend on. • Plan commitments and capacity by translating milestones into quarterly triage commitments and forecasting demand across onshore, offshore, and vendor teams. This is a systems-oriented role requiring someone who understands how changes in one part of the triage pipeline ripple through the organization. You will work closely with engineering, leadership, and cross-functional teams to build processes and tooling that scale. Requirements: • 3+ years in technical program management or engineering operations with a systems mindset—ability to see programs and hardware-software systems as connected parts and trace how changes propagate upstream and downstream. • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience. • Data fluency: experience writing your own queries and dashboards on high-volume issue or operational data, with a track record of using metrics to drive operational change. • Tool-builder disposition: experience building light tooling to run your own program and partnering with engineering to automate manual work. • Stakeholder leadership and communication: proven ability to align teams without direct authority and deliver clear, concise updates to leadership. • Ability to structure complex or ambiguous problems into workstreams, milestones, and clear ownership. Bonus qualifications: • Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or other safety-critical systems, ideally with simulation, log replay, or regression testing. • Experience program-managing internal tools or automation through to adoption. • Proficiency in Python or SQL, plus familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
