Brodie League is a fast-growing adult recreational basketball brand operating 30+ locations across North America with 50,000 athletes. The League Manager role is the operational and leadership hub of a Brodie location, responsible for running the venue end-to-end from game operations to administrative management.
On game nights (typically 6pm–midnight, multiple nights per week including weekends), you lead a floor crew of 10–20 staff including scorekeepers, referees, athlete experience specialists, and media personnel. You ensure every game starts on time, meets Brodie's brand standards, and delivers a premium experience. You manage crew scheduling, brief staff before each night, rotate personnel across positions, hold quality standards in real-time, and close out scoresheets and reporting within 4 hours of the final game.
During the week, you own the operational backbone: scheduling seasons and playoffs in PlayerOne, managing divisions and rosters, handling payroll and timesheets in Rippling, collecting payments from athletes with overdue balances, and maintaining accurate stats and standings. You greet captains, respond to player and captain messages within 24 hours, and follow up on complaints within 48 hours. You also drive retention and growth by personally reaching out to captains, lapsed teams, and your network, logging all activity in the CRM.
You report to a District Manager and in new or smaller markets partner with a City Launcher to grow the league while running it. You work independently on non-game days, keeping your District Manager informed through the CRM, checklists, and weekly check-ins. You also build systems and train your crew so the location can operate smoothly without your direct presence, and you advocate for increased capacity when locations sell out.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years leading people: hired, scheduled, corrected, and developed a team of 3+ in restaurants, hospitality, retail, fitness, events, or sports operations; held others to a standard and speak about team accomplishments, not just personal ones.
- Proven ownership of something recurring (weekly shift, location, program, or season) that ran on systems rather than memory; demonstrated ability to own mistakes and implement process changes.
- Warmth and presence that makes athletes feel welcomed and remembered; prior experience in a Brodie league or strong network in local basketball/rec sports is a strong asset.
- Real relationship with basketball and local community through playing, coaching, refereeing, organizing, or captaining.
- Fully committed to full-time role as your only job; available for game nights (6pm–midnight, multiple nights/week including weekends) and working roughly 9am–5pm on non-game weekdays.
- Local and on-site: live in or near the market, work on-site at assigned venue every game night, reliable transportation for brand fixtures and equipment, and available for HQ training and check-ins.
- Comfortable with sales and follow-up; energized by outreach, able to convert verbal commitments to paid registrations, and treat activity logging as part of the job. Experience with CRM, payroll, timesheets, or scheduling tools is a strong asset; quick adoption of new tools (PlayerOne, Rippling, Slack).
