Bankjoy is a Y Combinator and Bessemer Venture Partner-backed fintech startup transforming how community banks and credit unions operate. The company provides modern digital banking products including mobile banking, online banking, account opening, loan origination, and conversational AI.
You will be the sole PM for the Vendor Integration team, which owns all fintech connections in the product suite: payment and card vendors, identity and fraud vendors, data aggregators, and SSO integrations. The team consists of five engineers and one QA engineer. You will have complete ownership of PRDs, vendor decisions, and roadmap planning for this critical function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing vendors from initial evaluation through production deployment, including API documentation review, scope management, pilot client relationships, and go-live coordination.
- Writing clear, technical PRDs and context documents that engineers can build from confidently, with readiness checks and story-level breakdown for QA acceptance.
- Conducting your own technical diligence by reading .NET backend and Angular frontend code to understand existing integrations, identify reusable patterns, and occasionally shipping small changes directly.
- Coordinating across authentication, banking core, and product teams (account opening, lending, PFM) who depend on vendor integrations.
- Documenting shipped features, creating vendor implementation guides, client test guides, and release notes so the Implementation team can operate independently.
- Creating first-draft UI designs in Figma and building HTML prototypes when needed for clarity.
- Building PM automation tools, including AI agent skills for other PMs and maintaining a structured knowledge base.
- Leading the squad by setting priorities with the Tech Lead, sequencing roadmaps against client contracts and vendor timelines, running sprint planning and backlog grooming, and owning the Jira board.
You will own the full vendor surface: payments (bill pay, transfers, P2P), cards (management and SSO), data and identity (account linking, verification, credit scores), documents and imaging (eStatements, check images), and new vendor onboarding as client contracts evolve.
REQUIREMENTS:
Product Management:
- 4+ years as a product manager on a B2B platform, with at least 2 years in integrations, payments, or fintech infrastructure.
- Shipped at least one third-party integration end-to-end: vendor evaluation, requirements, certification, pilot, and production.
- Clear, concise writing with short sentences, active voice, and no filler (writing sample required).
- Experience managing vendor relationships where the vendor's process set the schedule.
Technical:
- Ability to read C# and TypeScript well enough to trace code paths, spot missing pieces, and estimate changes.
- Comfortable with git (branches, rebases, diffs, cherry-picks) and can open a PR.
- Understanding of SSO and API auth patterns: OAuth client credentials, token exchange (RFC 8693), SAML, JWKS, signed URLs, iframe postMessage.
- Can derive requirements from OpenAPI specs or Postman collections.
- Knowledge of PCI scope implications for payment flows.
Domain:
- Understanding of how fintech products integrate with banks: which data comes from core systems, which vendors hold, and where disagreements arise. Direct core banking experience is a plus but not required.
- Understanding of credit union and community bank buyers: the institution is the client, the account holder is the user, and both need satisfaction.
Ways of Working:
- Record decisions as they happen with reasoning.
- Ship first drafts fast and iterate in the open.
- Use AI tools daily and demonstrate built workflows, not just prompts.
