Salary: USD 115,000 - 155,000 / annual

Starburst is seeking a Solution Architect to work with enterprise customers on data architecture and analytics challenges. You will collaborate closely with customers to understand their business goals and technical requirements, then design and implement end-to-end solutions leveraging Starburst's data access and analytics products. Key responsibilities include: - Collaborating with customers to understand business objectives, data architecture, and technical needs - Designing comprehensive solutions using Starburst products for data access, analytics, and performance optimization - Developing architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans - Leading solution implementation and deployment alongside customer and internal teams - Providing technical guidance and best practices on Starburst product usage - Training and upskilling partner personnel on Starburst products - Creating resources, best practices, and process documentation to enhance partner delivery capabilities - Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during implementation and operation - Staying current on industry trends and emerging technologies in data management and analytics About Starburst: The company delivers enterprise intelligence at scale by providing secure, governed access to distributed data environments. Built on open standards including Trino and Apache Iceberg, Starburst enables trusted data access while helping organizations avoid vendor lock-in and power AI and analytics without traditional data consolidation costs. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred) - 8+ years of experience in technical roles such as solution architect, data engineer, or software engineer - Deep understanding of data architecture principles including data modeling, integration, and warehousing - Proficiency in SQL and experience with distributed query engines (Presto, Trino, Apache Spark) - Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer and team interaction - Prior client-facing or consulting experience highly desirable - Experience with Linux OS, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and programming/scripting (Java, Python, Bash) is a plus - Prior open-source technology experience and contributions highly desirable - Technical training delivery experience (internal or external) highly desirable - Familiarity with LLM-based data interaction patterns (natural language to SQL, retrieval-augmented generation) is a plus - Understanding of AI governance, data security, and risks associated with AI-generated queries and insights is a plus Note: This role requires 25% travel for onboarding, team offsites, and customer engagement.
