Lightning AI is hiring a Technical People Operations Specialist to build and scale an AI-native People Ops organization. The company, founded in 2019 and behind PyTorch Lightning, recently merged with Voltage Park to create an end-to-end platform for developing, training, and deploying AI systems. With offices in NYC, San Francisco, Seattle, and London, and backing from top-tier VCs (Coatue, Index Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, Firstminute), Lightning AI is growing rapidly.
In this role, you'll report to the Head of People Ops and own the design, build, and deployment of People workflows, systems, and solutions. Rather than stitching together six off-the-shelf HR tools, Lightning AI is building a tailored, in-house People operating system with automated workflows for hiring, onboarding, and agentic employee and manager support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design secure systems with role-based permissions and data access controls for sensitive people data
- Build AI agents, workflows, dashboards, and decision-support tools for the People team, managers, and leaders
- Own day-to-day People Operations administration across the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, HRIS updates, documentation, and data management
- Support payroll and benefits administration, including employee changes, audits, reconciliations, and enrollments
- Serve as a point of contact for employee and manager questions on pay, benefits, leave, policies, and systems
- Maintain data accuracy and reliability through regular audits, cleanup, documentation, and process maintenance
- Support recurring People programs and operational cycles
