Tailscale is seeking a Technical Growth Content Specialist to create educational content that drives enterprise adoption and technical practitioner engagement with their secure networking platform. This role bridges technical writing, content marketing, developer education, and product storytelling, working closely with the AI & Organic Search Manager to transform customer questions, product launches, and search insights into technically accurate, high-performing content across search engines, AI-powered discovery platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews), and social channels where technical audiences discover tools.
Key responsibilities include creating hyper-relevant content that drives measurable growth by monitoring conversations on Twitter, Hacker News, and Reddit to identify emerging trends and questions, then rapidly producing timely content (often same-week or same-day). You'll build hands-on experience with Tailscale to create credible, practical technical content, partner with Product Marketing, Product, Engineering, Developer Relations, and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and usefulness, and refresh existing content based on performance insights. The role emphasizes developing an AI-first content program that leverages search, customer, product, and performance data to produce high-quality content at velocity while maintaining editorial excellence.
Success is measured by content quality, usefulness, and business impact—not volume—with specific quarterly metrics accountability. You'll support strategic initiatives with technical content that drives self-serve revenue and product adoption.
Required qualifications include 3–6+ years in growth technical content marketing, technical writing, developer marketing, or journalism; exceptional writing and editing skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly; familiarity with SEO and AI discoverability best practices; experience creating educational content for technical or enterprise audiences; comfort learning new technologies and building with products; experience using AI tools to research and improve content; and strong collaboration skills with engineering, product, and marketing teams.
Nice-to-have skills include experience marketing developer tools, infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, or B2B SaaS; familiarity with GitHub, Markdown, HTML, or static site generators; experience building sample applications or interactive technical resources; basic scripting or programming knowledge (Python, JavaScript, Go); experience creating videos, diagrams, or technical educational content; active presence in developer communities; existing audience on Twitter/X or personal blog in AI space; and experience building content clusters for topical authority.
