Tailscale is seeking a Technical Growth Content Specialist to create educational content that drives enterprise adoption and technical practitioner engagement with their secure networking platform. This role bridges technical writing, content marketing, developer education, and product storytelling, working closely with the AI & Organic Search Manager to transform customer questions, product launches, and industry trends into technically accurate, high-performing content across search engines, AI-powered discovery platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews), and social channels where technical audiences congregate.
Key responsibilities include creating hyper-relevant content informed by search insights and customer questions; monitoring conversations on Twitter, Hacker News, and Reddit to identify emerging trends and turn them into timely content (often same-week or same-day); partnering with cross-functional teams (Product Marketing, Product, Engineering, Developer Relations, Docs) to ensure accuracy and usefulness; building hands-on experience with Tailscale to create credible, practical technical content; producing content at high velocity while maintaining editorial quality; refreshing and optimizing existing content based on performance data; developing an AI-first content program; and supporting strategic initiatives with content that drives self-serve revenue and product adoption.
The ideal candidate has 3–6+ years in growth technical content marketing, technical writing, developer marketing, or journalism. Required skills include exceptional writing and editing abilities, familiarity with SEO and AI discoverability best practices, curiosity and hunger to learn, experience creating educational content for technical/enterprise audiences, comfort learning new technologies, proficiency with AI tools for research and drafting, and strong collaboration skills. Nice-to-have qualifications include experience marketing developer tools, infrastructure, networking, or cybersecurity products; familiarity with GitHub, Markdown, HTML, or static site generators; ability to build sample applications or demos; basic scripting/programming knowledge (Python, JavaScript, Go); video or diagram creation experience; active presence in developer communities; existing audience on Twitter/X or personal blog; and experience building content clusters for topical authority.
