Sakana AI, a Tokyo-based AI company, is seeking a Technical Editor (Defense and Intelligence) to bridge cutting-edge AI technology with Japan's defense and intelligence ecosystem. This role involves collaborating with executives, project managers, engineers, and researchers to develop and execute documentation strategies that connect Sakana AI's advanced technology to government budget requests and policy-making processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with leadership and technical teams to create compelling proposals, business summaries (ponchi-e), and technical documentation tailored to government procurement cycles and policy decision-making processes
- Synthesizing complex internal expertise into high-quality, persuasive materials for government agencies
- Understanding government budget cycles and policy frameworks to effectively communicate technical capabilities
Required qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional experience in one of the following:
- Creating documentation for government budget requests or policy planning within a government agency
- Authoring successful proposals for government-funded R&D initiatives in the private sector
- Passion for generative AI models, LLMs, and AI agents
- Bachelor's degree
- Business-level Japanese proficiency (N1 equivalent); business-level English is a plus
- Based in Japan
Nice-to-have:
- Experience executing government budgets in government or private sector roles
