Ping Identity is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join its documentation team, reporting to a Technical Documentation Manager. You will create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Ping Identity's identity and access management platform, serving diverse audiences including end-users, administrators, developers, integrators, and DevOps professionals.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with subject matter experts, engineers, and product teams to design and deliver documentation for cloud-based and on-premise software. You will translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content with real-world examples and use cases. Working in a Docs-as-Code environment using AsciiDoc and GitHub, you'll advocate for documentation throughout the software development lifecycle, participate in product planning meetings, and provide constructive feedback on writer and developer-contributed content.
Required qualifications include experience with software development and Agile methodologies, proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision, and hands-on experience with markdown languages, version control tools, and project management platforms like Jira and Confluence. You should be comfortable exploring unreleased features, testing early-stage software, and gathering insights independently. Experience with AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot) for code generation, use case creation, and content refinement is expected. Understanding of documentation site build and publishing tools (Jenkins, Antora) and demonstrated ability to collaborate both remotely and in-person are essential.
Advantages include experience in Docs-as-Code environments, scripting/programming (Java, Bash, Python, JavaScript), building and configuring software, documenting identity and access management applications, API documentation, and writing AI skill files for AI agents and developer tooling.
