Salary: USD 105,000 - 170,000 / annual
Censys is hiring a Technical Content Specialist to build learning experiences that help customers and internal teams understand Censys products deeply—not just how to use them, but why they matter for attack surface management, critical infrastructure monitoring, and threat hunting.
You will own the Censys Academy learning management system (LMS), creating interactive courses, hands-on capture-the-flag (CTF) exercises, product documentation, and video content. This is a hands-on instructional design and content development role that sits close to the product team. You'll translate complex cybersecurity capabilities into engaging learning experiences—video, interactive walkthroughs, and scenario-based exercises—that help security professionals understand and confidently use Censys at internet scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan, develop, and manage interactive learning content for the LMS, from course structure through publication
- Transform instructor-led training into self-paced eLearning experiences
- Design and coordinate capture-the-flag exercises for asynchronous learning
- Create and maintain product documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Produce video content covering feature releases, use cases, and customer personas
- Teach users the "why" behind product capabilities and how they connect to real security workflows
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success to ground content in actual customer needs
- Participate in feature development early to inform better enablement content
You'll work at the intersection of cybersecurity and storytelling, helping thousands of security professionals understand how to defend critical infrastructure and hunt threats using Censys.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in technical writing, instructional design, content development, or related content/enablement role, ideally at a B2B SaaS or cybersecurity company
- Demonstrated experience building content for an LMS or eLearning platform, including course structuring and publishing
- Strong writing skills with ability to translate complex technical functionality into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences
- Experience producing or coordinating video content, from scripting through final production
- Comfortable learning technical, security-focused products in depth and translating knowledge into teachable content
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple content workstreams and deadlines
- Excellent collaboration skills across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success
- Demonstrates curiosity, willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI
Preferred:
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts (attack surface management, critical infrastructure monitoring, threat hunting/threat intelligence)
- Experience designing capture-the-flag exercises or hands-on, scenario-based technical training
- Experience with video editing tools and eLearning authoring tools (Articulate, Camtasia, or similar)
- Experience converting instructor-led training into self-paced digital content
- Familiarity with product documentation tools and publishing workflows
