Normal Computing is an applied AI company building foundational hardware and software for the semiconductor industry and critical AI infrastructure. We are seeking a Technical Content Lead to explain the science and engineering behind Normal Inference Systems to technical and commercial audiences. You will be a senior individual contributor reporting to the Head of Communications, embedded with the Engineering team. Your core responsibilities include: - Writing original technical content: blog posts, social copy, research stories, technical essays, whitepapers, and explainers about Normal's hardware and applied AI research. You will develop substance directly with scientists and engineers, lead pieces through expert review, and collaborate on framing and publication. - Strengthening shared content: Edit and co-author external-facing materials with technical experts, polish presentations and customer collateral while maintaining accuracy, and contribute to website content, explainer videos, and technical design assets. - Industry tracking: Continuously monitor competitive positioning, ecosystem developments, and value propositions. Provide weekly reports to Communications and Marketing on industry trends and timely updates on relevant developments. - Embedding with Engineering: Attend regular engineering and silicon team meetings, stay current on their work, brief Communications and Marketing on verified progress and roadmap changes, and apply that knowledge to original writing. - Technical performance explanation: Work with Engineering to interpret benchmarks, develop comparisons, and explain Normal Inference Systems performance to diverse audiences. - Customer materials development: Create technical substance for evaluation materials, decks, briefs, and FAQs. Explain system capabilities, integration requirements, and workload economics. - Making answers findable: Turn recurring customer questions into searchable technical explanations and keep them current as systems evolve. - Evidence-based explanations: Develop diagrams, plots, and reproducible examples with internal experts and external collaborators. - Field learning: Join research, product, and customer discussions to understand constraints and identify stories worth developing. - Technical accuracy: Resolve open questions with experts, maintain consistent company language, and update published content when new evidence emerges. You will work across Normal's offices in New York City, Silicon Valley (Mountain View), London, Copenhagen, and Seoul, with travel readiness expected for team collaboration, lab work, customer evaluations, and industry events. REQUIREMENTS: - Portfolio of substantial technical work you authored and can explain in depth, with evidence of consistently publishing strong work at pace. Deep-tech journalism or equivalent in-house writing and editing experience is especially relevant. Research, engineering, and technical marketing backgrounds can qualify with the same evidence of original writing, editorial judgment, and delivery. - Ability to go deep into subjects such as AI inference, computer architecture, semiconductors, or computational physics to write credibly and precisely. Can build understanding from primary sources and expert conversations, identify knowledge gaps, and learn challenging new material quickly. - Technical reasoning: can read research papers, question benchmarks, and explain mechanisms in your own words. Understand when conclusions depend on assumptions, what makes comparisons valid, and which questions require additional measurement. - Comfort with benchmark data, plots, technical diagrams, code, and notebooks. Experience creating runnable examples or reproducible technical artifacts is useful. - Ability to write for domain experts and adapt the same substance for customers or executives with clarity and precision. Think about visual explanation alongside prose. - Cross-functional collaboration skills: earn trust of researchers and engineers, share work early, invite contributions, help colleagues strengthen content, and manage expert reviews while meeting regular publishing cadence. - Willingness to travel for team collaboration, lab work, customer evaluations, and relevant industry events.
