Salary: USD 85,000 - 130,000 / annual
As a Technical Account Manager on Automattic's Special Projects team, you will be the primary point of contact ensuring partners have an excellent experience with WordPress and Automattic products throughout their entire lifecycle—from onboarding through ongoing support and maintenance.
Your core responsibilities include driving partner adoption of WordPress, WooCommerce, Jetpack, and MailPoet; resolving incoming partner requests with precision; and serving as the voice of the customer to product teams. You'll dive into WordPress and WooCommerce configurations, lead high-touch deployments including DNS configuration, domain transfers, data migrations, and integrations, and troubleshoot technical issues while escalating complex problems to engineering teams.
You will develop close relationships with partners to understand their business and technical needs, translate their requests into concrete WordPress-focused requirements, and write clear tasks for team execution. You'll respond rapidly to urgent incidents, continuously improve processes to increase project capacity, and communicate confidently with third parties about integration requirements and WordPress best practices.
The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced WordPress admin expertise (plugin/theme interactions, Site Editor proficiency), strong knowledge of web technologies (DNS, accessibility, performance, technical SEO, ecommerce), and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You excel at triaging requests, managing work independently while adapting to competing priorities, creating structure in ambiguous situations, and maintaining meticulous attention to detail. You display an obsessive commitment to delivering beyond-expected customer service and can demonstrate concrete examples of using AI to multiply your productivity.
