BigID is seeking a Team Lead for Technical Writing to lead and scale their technical documentation function. Reporting to the VP of Product Management, you will drive the vision and execution for end-to-end technical content across BigID's enterprise data security, compliance, and AI data management product line.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage a team of technical writers, mentoring and fostering a collaborative, continuous-learning culture with clear accountability.
- Pioneer an AI-first approach by identifying, evaluating, and integrating AI tools and LLM workflows into the technical writing lifecycle to automate content creation, updates, and localization.
- Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Product Operations to align documentation roadmaps with product releases and ensure seamless cross-functional delivery.
- Establish and maintain clear documentation standards, AI usage guidelines, and editorial processes to ensure technical accuracy, readability, and brand consistency across all content.
- Define and track success metrics for technical content (ticket deflection, search conversion, completion rates) to continuously refine quality and operational productivity.
Required experience:
- 3+ years in technical writing within B2B SaaS or enterprise software, with direct team management experience.
- Demonstrated experience applying AI tools, automated content pipelines, or prompt engineering to enhance technical documentation.
- Ability to translate complex software architecture, enterprise data structures, and APIs into clear, user-friendly documentation.
- Proven cross-functional leadership collaborating with Product Management on high-impact documentation initiatives.
- Strong track record defining documentation strategies, establishing style guides, and managing multi-project deliverables in agile environments.
