xAI is seeking a Supervisor for Production Coordination to lead logistics and material-flow operations at its Memphis/Southaven data center campus. This is a hands-on management role overseeing hourly Production Coordinators and logistics teammates supporting data center construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations.
You will own shift-level execution of work-order-driven material flow, including inventory requests, shortage management, kit/de-kit operations, BOM reconciliation, and on-time delivery of high-value servers, networking gear, power and cooling components, and infrastructure materials to Site Operations and construction teams. You will set standards for inventory integrity, safety, and customer service while driving continuous improvement across receiving, inventory, kitting, and material flow.
Key responsibilities include managing hourly workforce performance through feedback, conflict resolution, and corrective action; leading by example and motivating teams to achieve results; monitoring operations to ensure a safe work environment with zero OSHA recordables; owning shift-level production coordination and material delivery; ensuring proper handling and protection of high-value equipment per company specifications; interfacing with engineers, technicians, Site Operations, and construction on priorities; reconciling work-order BOMs and ensuring material matches paperwork; maintaining data integrity in company systems; supervising kit build, de-kit, return-to-stock, and staging workflows; ensuring cycle counting, FIFO rotation, and environmental controls; leading cost-saving and continuous-improvement projects; and actively developing the workforce.
The role requires flexibility across four rotating shifts (day and night, varying days of week), with preference for candidates available across all shifts including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. Travel up to 20% of time may be required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of professional experience in materials management, supply chain, or production/manufacturing; OR 4+ years of professional experience in materials management, supply chain, or production/manufacturing in lieu of a degree
- 1+ years of experience leading or supervising hourly warehouse, inventory, production coordination, or manufacturing teams
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience with ERP/inventory management software (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Experience with MRP systems and work-order/BOM-driven material flow
- 3+ years of leadership experience within materials management or production coordination
- Experience in data center, aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing environments
- APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP)
- Lean/Six Sigma experience; Green or Black Belt preferred
- Ability to operate forklift equipment
- Excellent communication and team-building skills; organized, self-driven, and effective in fast-paced cross-functional environments
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to work at elevated heights
- Ability to work in extreme outdoor environments (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
- Willingness to operate machinery such as forklifts and loaders when needed
- Able to work onsite in the Memphis, TN/Southaven, MS area
