Sweetgreen is seeking a Food Cost & Inventory Systems Manager to own the systems and processes that underpin food cost (COGS) and inventory management across 287+ restaurants nationwide. This is a hands-on systems ownership role without direct reports, sitting on the Business Technology team.
You will administer, configure, and maintain platforms including Crunchtime: Net-Chef, FoodLogiq, and ArrowStream, contributing to their roadmap evolution. You'll build and maintain processes ensuring accurate COGS and inventory data across the supply chain—from suppliers and farmers through logistics partners, into restaurants, and to customers. This includes managing pack sizes, sourcing attributes (cage-free, organic, no-antibiotics-ever), pricing, invoicing, and reconciliation for both pre-prepared and post-prepped ingredients.
Key responsibilities include partnering with Ops Services, Restaurant Operators, Supply Chain, and Finance to align system solutions to the end-to-end food journey; identifying and resolving system gaps and inefficiencies affecting COGS tracking and supply chain visibility; building and maintaining integrations and APIs connecting these systems; and establishing SOPs and best practices for COGS system use across teams. You'll manage day-to-day vendor relationships and partner on reporting and analytics that inform food cost and inventory decisions.
You move comfortably between operational detail and system design, translate operator and supply chain needs into practical, scalable technical solutions, and communicate clearly with both technical and operational audiences. You take ownership of data integrity, build trusted cross-functional relationships, and stay organized in an environment where small details carry real financial weight.
The role is based in-person a minimum of 4 days per week at the Los Angeles Support Center.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years in business technology, systems administration, or technical operations, including direct work on inventory or COGS systems
- Restaurant or QSR industry experience with COGS and inventory management
- Hands-on knowledge of Crunchtime: Net-Chef or comparable inventory and COGS management system
- Strong understanding of end-to-end food supply chain, including upstream suppliers, distributors, and lead logistics providers, and how it flows into restaurant operations
- Experience with data integration, reporting, and analytics tools supporting inventory and food cost visibility
- Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally with operations, finance, and supply chain stakeholders to drive system and process improvements at scale
