OpenLoop is a telehealth platform that delivers virtual care solutions across all 50 US states. The Business Systems Architect role is a hands-on, strategic position responsible for designing, governing, and evolving the enterprise application ecosystem that powers OpenLoop's business operations.
You will own the end-to-end architecture of the core SaaS stack, including NetSuite (ERP), Jira, Confluence, Okta (identity and access management), Google Workspace, and Slack. You will partner across Finance, People, Revenue, Clinical Operations, and Engineering to ensure systems are secure, integrated, scalable, and audit-ready.
Key responsibilities include:
**Architecture & Strategy:** Own the reference architecture for the business systems landscape, maintaining current-state and target-state system maps, data flow diagrams, and integration inventories. Define enterprise standards for integration patterns, master data management, identity and access, and change management. Evaluate and recommend SaaS applications, lead build-vs-buy analysis and vendor selection. Partner with the AI Program team to identify opportunities to embed AI, agents, and automation into business workflows (procure-to-pay, quote-to-cash, IT service management, HR lifecycle).
**Systems Ownership:** Serve as the technical architect across NetSuite, Atlassian tools, Okta, Google Workspace, Slack Enterprise Grid, and adjacent platforms. Design and oversee integrations using iPaaS/middleware (Workato, Boomi, Zapier), REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and event-driven patterns. Establish data governance across golden records, master data hierarchies, and canonical entity models. Own identity architecture including SSO, SCIM provisioning, group-based entitlements, and joiner-mover-leaver automation.
**Delivery & Operations:** Lead architecture reviews for implementations, upgrades, and integration projects. Partner with system administrators and business analysts to translate requirements into scalable designs. Support SOX, HIPAA, and SOC 2 audit readiness by designing access controls, segregation of duties, logging, and audit trails. Establish sandbox/production environment management, change control, and release management standards.
**Collaboration & Leadership:** Act as a trusted advisor to functional leaders on how technology enables strategy. Mentor system administrators and analysts on architectural best practices. Present technical recommendations to executives, translating trade-offs into business impact. Contribute to IT roadmap, budgeting, and vendor management.
You will report to the Director, Business Applications and work closely with the VP, Enterprise Technology and the AI Program team.
**Requirements:**
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise IT, business systems, or solutions architecture, with 3+ years in an architect capacity
- Deep hands-on experience with NetSuite, including implementation, customization, SuiteScript, SuiteFlow, and saved searches
- Strong working knowledge of Okta (SSO, SCIM, lifecycle management, workflows), Google Workspace administration, and Slack Enterprise Grid
- Proven experience architecting and building integrations across enterprise SaaS platforms using iPaaS tools, REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and event streams
- Demonstrated experience designing systems and access controls that meet SOX, HIPAA, and SOC 2 compliance frameworks
- Strong understanding of identity, access management, and zero-trust principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate technical architecture into business language for non-technical stakeholders
**Preferred:**
- Experience in healthcare, telehealth, or another highly regulated industry
- Experience with Atlassian tooling at scale (Jira Service Management, Confluence, Atlassian Guard, Automation)
- Exposure to modern data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Fivetran) and downstream analytics/reporting integration
- Experience embedding AI/LLM capabilities into enterprise workflows
- Relevant certifications: NetSuite SuiteFoundation or ERP Consultant, Okta Certified Professional or Administrator, TOGAF, or comparable
