Salary: USD 170,000 - 200,000 / annual

Granola is an AI-powered notepad for people in back-to-back meetings, functioning as a shared workspace that helps teams capture, organize, and act on information. The company is seeking its first Strategic Finance hire to build the financial operating rhythm supporting the next stage of growth. In this highly hands-on role, you will own core financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision support. You'll partner closely with leaders across the company to understand business performance, identify key drivers, and support better investment decisions. Key responsibilities include: - Owning the company financial model and forecasting, connecting revenue, headcount, operating expenses, gross margin, and cash flow while continuously improving forecast accuracy - Leading company planning and ongoing forecasting cadence, translating operating plans into financial outcomes and informing resource allocation - Partnering with functional leaders on budgets, forecasts, and performance analysis, identifying underlying drivers and converting them into clear insights and actions - Building a robust understanding of unit economics including gross margin, customer acquisition, retention, and sales efficiency, identifying improvement opportunities - Driving strategic analysis and decision-making through scenario building and frameworks for evaluating investments, pricing, headcount, and other key decisions - Establishing the models, processes, and operating cadences that enable Finance to become an increasingly effective partner as the company scales Requirements: - 5-8 years of experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, Corporate Finance, or similar roles - Proven experience owning financial models, forecasting, and planning processes in high-growth technology companies - Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with ability to independently structure and solve ambiguous problems - Direct experience partnering with functional and executive leaders, translating analysis into clear recommendations - Strong understanding of SaaS business models and operating metrics that drive growth and unit economics - Track record of taking ambiguous strategic questions through to structured analysis, clear conclusions, and recommended actions - Hands-on builder comfortable moving between detailed analysis and macro perspective - Analytical and commercially minded problem solver who enjoys deep numerical analysis while maintaining focus on business implications - Independent, low-ego approach to ambiguous questions with ability to drive work to clear conclusions - Strong business partnership and communication skills; ability to build trust across functions, challenge assumptions constructively, and make complex analysis understandable
