Empathy is a venture-backed platform transforming how families navigate life's difficult transitions—from bereavement to major life changes—by combining technology with compassionate human care. The company partners with leading employers, insurers, and financial institutions to deliver support at scale, currently serving over 50 million people across the US, Canada, and the UK. Backed by top-tier investors (General Catalyst, Index Ventures, Adams Street, Aleph, Entreé Capital) with $160M+ raised including a $72M Series C. The Insurance & Wealth Solutions Team drives enterprise sales by partnering with life insurance carriers, wealth managers, retirement organizations, and financial advisory groups. You will be a Strategic Account Executive responsible for building and managing a dynamic sales pipeline within the insurance and wealth sector, formulating strategic deal models, and cultivating substantial, complex partnerships with major financial institutions. Key responsibilities include: cultivating a robust sales pipeline; identifying and capitalizing on new business prospects; engaging and influencing senior leadership at Fortune 500 financial institutions with executive presence; leading negotiations for multi-year contracts; fostering industry connections for strategic collaborations; collaborating with Product and Marketing teams on holistic solutions; and representing the company at industry events. You will be based in a key growth territory (Chicago, Dallas, Houston, or broader Midwest/South) to help balance the growing West Coast presence. Core hours align with your assigned territory's time zone, with approximately 15% travel expected. Required: 5+ years of successful SaaS sales experience, preferably selling into financial or insurance institutions; 3+ years of hands-on business development (value creation, contract negotiation, funnel management); proficiency with MEDDIC/MEDDPIC sales methodology; ability to confidently present to and build trust with C-level executives at Fortune 500 firms; demonstrated success navigating complex enterprise sales cycles with high six-figure ACV agreements; proven track record of surpassing quotas in high-growth environments. General familiarity with US insurance and wealth products is a plus but not required. Preferred: prior exposure to insurance and wealth organizations; understanding of agents' needs and pain points; familiarity with Salesforce and Gmail.
