STOKE Space is building Nova, a fully reusable launch vehicle designed for daily flight to radically lower space launch costs and increase flight cadence. As a Stage Test Engineer at the Moses Lake test site, you will be a key member of a small, mission-driven team responsible for designing, building, operating, and maintaining ground test infrastructure for rocket stages, engines, and components. Your responsibilities span the full lifecycle of test operations: integrating rocket stages for ground testing, managing test preparation activities, leading test operations (autosequence creation, test procedure writing, data analysis), and designing/building fluid, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems. You will operate and troubleshoot high-pressure and cryogenic systems, perform hazard analysis, manage project schedules, and analyze test data. As part of a lean team, you'll also handle day-to-day site operations including shipping/receiving and administrative tasks. You must have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or equivalent), with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience testing integrated rocket vehicles. You need proven experience integrating and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems, working in high-pressure or hazardous environments, and a strong command of engineering fundamentals. Physical requirements include the ability to work outdoors for extended periods, stoop, bend, crawl, and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted. Preferred qualifications include experience designing fluid systems from scratch, creating P&IDs, and writing/operating test procedures. The role demands someone who is self-directed, can move fast, learn on the fly, and take ownership of both large and small tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. STOKE offers competitive compensation (Level 2: $109,725–$148,470; Level 3: $129,150–$193,620 depending on experience), equity in the form of stock options for all full-time employees, comprehensive benefits including subsidized medical/dental/vision, company-paid life and disability insurance, 401(k) with employer match, 4 weeks PTO, 10 paid holidays, paid family/parental leave, wellness stipends, and dog-friendly offices. ITAR compliance required: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for State Department authorization.
