Form Energy is seeking a Staff Technical Recruiter to lead strategic talent acquisition for its Engineering organization. This is a hybrid role based in Berkeley, CA (2 days/week onsite), supporting the scaling of hardware and mechanical engineering teams as the company ramps production of its iron-air battery systems.
You will own full-cycle recruiting for complex, niche engineering roles—from market mapping and sourcing through offer negotiation and closing. You'll partner closely with engineering leadership and hiring managers to understand technical requirements, team dynamics, and critical success factors. Your responsibilities include designing data-driven sourcing strategies to build pipelines of top-tier mechanical and hardware talent, architecting structured hiring processes that maintain high bars while delivering exceptional candidate experiences, and serving as a subject matter expert on the hardware talent market using industry benchmarks to influence decisions.
You'll identify non-traditional sourcing channels, implement customized outreach and specialized networking, and engage both active and passive candidates. This role requires deep collaboration across the organization to ensure disciplined, measured hiring processes and exceptional communication of Form Energy's mission to technical talent.
Required qualifications: 8+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting with 3+ years focused on Mechanical or Hardware Engineering. You must have deep understanding of physical product lifecycles—from R&D and prototyping through Design for Manufacturing and supply chain integration. Demonstrated ability to influence executives through recruiting metrics and data-driven partnership approaches. Strong track record recruiting for Mechanical, Electrical, or Physical Science roles in fast-paced, high-growth environments. Proficiency with modern recruiting tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, Ashby). Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with ability to operate in lean, high-leverage teams while managing multiple complex searches and stakeholder relationships.
